About us
Brief historical background
Seoul Players was formed in late 2001 by Roman Zolnierczyk, an Australian
business executive and keen thespian who was then living in Seoul. At that time,
there was very little English-speaking theater in Seoul.

this non-profit organization operates and how you can help or participate.
Theater productions
The Seoul Players’ first production was staged in June 2002 during the Korea
/ Japan World Cup. Since then we’ve staged approximately 2 full-scale productions per year.
Over the past 6 years, we have staged many different styles of plays, from
the zany ‘The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr’ to the technically difficult and
dramatic ‘Hitchcock Blonde’. Check out our
production gallery web page for more information on each production staged.
24-Hour Theater
In more recent times, Seoul Players has branched out to include other styles
of theater, including ‘24-Hour Theater’, a
unique concept whereby small teams write, rehearse and stage short sketches to a
live audience, all within a 24-hour period.
Seoul City Improv
In 2007, a group of keen improv actors created
Seoul City Improv in the style of ‘Who’s
line is it anyway?’ staging regular improv comedy nights around the Itaewon area
of Seoul.
