About us
Introduction
Seoul Players is an English-speaking community theatre company in Seoul, South Korea. We're a small non-profit group of (mostly) ex-pats who delight in bringing English-language theater to our audiences here in Seoul.
Seoul Players brings talented people together, some with a lot of theatre background, and some with none - but a lot of enthusiasm! All those involved with the Seoul Players volunteer their time for the love of theater.
Seoul Players offers the expatriate and Korean community the opportunity to indulge themselves in English-language theatrical arts.
With many local Koreans also attending our performances, we also hope to broaden awareness in Korea of foreign theatre and offer Korean students an English learning experience.
Brief historical background
Seoul Players was formed in late 2001 by Roman Zolnierczyk, an Australian
business executive and keen thespian who was then living in Seoul. At that time,
there was very little English-speaking theater in Seoul.

this non-profit organization operates and how you can help or participate.
Theater productions
The Seoul Players' first production was staged in June 2002 during the Korea
/ Japan World Cup. Since then we've staged approximately 2 full-scale productions per year.
Over the past 8 years, we have staged many different styles of plays, from
the zany 'The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr' to the technically difficult and
dramatic 'Hitchcock Blonde'. Check out our
production gallery web page for more information on each production staged.
24-Hour Theater
In more recent times, Seoul Players has branched out to include other styles
of theater, including '24-Hour Theater', a
unique concept whereby small teams write, rehearse and stage short sketches to a
live audience, all within a 24-hour period.
Seoul City Improv
In 2007, a group of keen improv actors created
Seoul City Improv in the style of 'Who's
line is it anyway?' staging regular improv comedy nights around the Itaewon area
of Seoul.
